Matthew 9:10 does not stipulate where the evening meal with the tax collectors and sinners took place. Luke 5:29 clearly indicates the place as the house of Matthew himself. This was also not just some meal, but a genuine feast (Luke 5:29).1
The location of the dinner with the tax collectors and sinners is not mentioned in Matthew 9:10, but Luke 5:29 says that it was a great feast
in Matthew’s own house.
10 And as Jesus reclined at table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were reclining with Jesus and his disciples.
