What is significant about the inclusion of Hormah in the victory list?

Joshua 12:14 (ESV)

14 the king of Hormah, one; the king of Arad, one;

The city of Hormah was associated with Israel’s failed first invasion (Numbers 14:45). The inclusion of the city in the victory list thus serves to reverse a painful memory of an earlier defeat.1
