King Asa was wise enough to understand that the temporary removal of the army of Israel from Ramah was not a permanent remedy to the danger to Judah. Therefore, he devised a plan that would go further in relieving that danger. He commanded that every able-bodied person in Judah was to carry off the building materials of Ramah and use them in the building of two cities, Geba of Benjamin and Mizpah.
22 Then King Asa made a proclamation to all Judah, none was exempt, and they carried away the stones of Ramah and its timber, with which Baasha had been building, and with them King Asa built Geba of Benjamin and Mizpah.
