Lamentations 3:46–47 (ESV)

46 “All our enemies open their mouths against us;

Lamentations 3:45 expresses that the people have become scum and garbage among the nations. What follows this expression is developed further. In Lamentations 3:46, the writer states that the enemies have spoken harmful words against them. Then he sums up what has befallen them, namely panic, pitfall, devastation and destruction (Lamentations 3:47).1
