What was the effect of God’s anger?

Lamentations 1:13 (ESV)

13 “From on high he sent fire; into my bones he made it descend; he spread a net for my feet; he turned me back; he has left me stunned, faint all the day long.

The result of God’s anger is described as follows: He has left me stunned, faint all the day long. In other words, the city is left desolate and sick. The city is powerless and in no condition to resist or flee. Because of the fire that burnt into the heart of the city and the net that prevented any one from escaping, the city was in a condition of weakness and hopelessly demoralised.1
