The Lord’s instruction is literally, Set your heart upon your ways.
This is a favourite phrase of Haggai’s; he says it twice in our text alone (see further Haggai 2:15, Haggai 2:18). He is calling God’s people to take a good hard look at their lifestyle, their choices, and the frustrations that they have experienced because of their upside-down priorities.
