The transformation of Jerusalem will be comprehensive. No longer will nations look at the destroyed city as a place to be despised because of the Lord’s judgment (see Jeremiah 18:16; Jeremiah 19:8, Jeremiah 25:9,Jeremiah 25:18). Instead, it will be a place known for its joy and will bring praise and glory to the Lord before all the nations. The nations will fear and tremble
before the Lord, not because of judgment, but because of all the good
he does for his people and the prosperity
he provides for the city and the land.
9 And this city shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and a glory before all the nations of the earth who shall hear of all the good that I do for them. They shall fear and tremble because of all the good and all the prosperity I provide for it.
