What does the Lord say will happen to Jerusalem?

Jeremiah 32:28 (ESV)

28 Therefore, thus says the LORD: Behold, I am giving this city into the hands of the Chaldeans and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he shall capture it.

The Lord continues his response to Jeremiah’s prayer by affirming his judgment of Judah, Therefore, thus says the Lord, Behold I am giving this city into the hands of the Chaldean and into the hands of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he shall capture it. The word therefore makes it clear that the Lord is powerful enough to carry out the judgment he has sent Jeremiah to proclaim. Jeremiah will see this message fulfilled1.The Lord withholding judgment will not be the resolution to Jeremiahs confusion.
