The number of different trades and talents involved in the project is striking. The list includes blue-collar tradesmen as goldsmiths and perfumers, as well as white-collar workers as priests, Levites, merchants, and even governors. All whose hearts God made willing were given a section of wall to rebuild, hard and heavy though the work was. The point is that the Lord uses people of any trade or socio-economic level to do the work of the Lord in his kingdom. No one is ungifted, though not every person can participate in every project.
