If you see how stubborn the living God is in fulfilling his promises, you see what a virtue it is and what a rock of security it is to God's people. I don’t care, Zerubbabel, says God how dismal your situation seems to be:
I will set you as a signet ring, I will bring my promise to David to pass and you are the guarantee of that. I have chosen you, that when I will continue, it will come to completion.Do you not hear in all God's promises that stubborn note? Do you not read it in the promises of the Lord Jesus Christ? Do you not hear it in Matthew 16:18, when Jesus says,I will build my church and the gates of death shall not prevail against it.Does that not just ooze that Divine stubbornness? Is that not also seen in Jesus’ words in John’s Gospel?
