Isaiah 50:11 is a warning to all who, having rejected the fear of the Lord and the word of his servant, prefer to deal with life’s darkness by metaphorically creating their own light; that is, they find confidence in their own understanding and resources. 1
11 Behold, all you who kindle a fire, who equip yourselves with burning torches! Walk by the light of your fire, and by the torches that you have kindled! This you have from my hand: you shall lie down in torment.
