There is some debate whether the mention of the Lord’s nearness refers to time (eschatological) or space (proximity). Support is stacked in favour of the latter; indeed, the Servant literally says, Near is the one who vindicates me.
That is, the vindicator is at hand, ready to support his own.1
8 He who vindicates me is near. Who will contend with me? Let us stand up together. Who is my adversary? Let him come near to me.
