The Servant used the gifts of hearing and speaking to fulfil the assignment he was given, rather than rebelling against the Giver of the gifts. He is emphatic that he did not rebel: literally, he says, As for me, I did not rebel.
And he did not avoid the Lord by turning backward.
5 The Lord GOD has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious; I turned not backward.
