What does it mean to “incline your ear”?

Psalm 17:6 (ESV)

6 I call upon you, for you will answer me, O God; incline your ear to me; hear my words.

This is an anthropomorphism, the attributing of human characteristics to the Lord. The psalmist is simply calling upon the Lord to listen very closely.
