As a result of the Lord’s anger bursting out against Uzzah, David was reluctant to take the ark to Jerusalem.1 He was concerned that the Lord might be displeased with his project,2 that a similar outburst would take place, and that the presence of the Lord might bring curse instead of blessing.3 At this point in time he was likely unaware of the reason for the Lord’s anger.
10 So David was not willing to take the ark of the LORD into the city of David. But David took it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.
