The Lord alone is God. He rules over all, the Creator of heaven and earth. Even so, he has deemed the people of Israel to be his special chosen people who have the privilege of calling on him in prayer and meeting with him in worship. A people chosen from out of all the nations (see Deuteronomy 7:6–7). They are the Lord's permanent dynasty because he intends to keep them (see Leviticus 26:44–45; Deuteronomy 30:1–6).1 No one will snatch or take God’s people from him (see John 10:1–42).
24 And you established for yourself your people Israel to be your people forever. And you, O LORD, became their God.
