David marvelled at the position to which God has brought him, that he (David) is king over Israel.1 He and his family did not have any dynastic expectations but now he had found himself to be in a privileged position.2 His question is similar to that which was asked by Saul when he heard that he would become king (see 1 Samuel 9:21).
