Commentary on Job 36:16 (Summary)

Job 36:16 (ESV)

16 He also allured you out of distress into a broad place where there was no cramping, and what was set on your table was full of fatness.

Elihu now applies his argument to Job’s own suffering. God is not unrighteous, nor is he ill-disposed toward Job. On the contrary, by making Job suffer, God is seeking to save Job from greater distress and bring him to a place of safety and comfort.
