What does 2 Samuel 3:1–5 reveal about what God the Son does in my place and on my behalf?
God the Son took on flesh to dwell among us. Jesus Christ fully trusted the Father, living in keeping with God’s law and pursuing the ideals of Scripture. He is the true king who leads us in obedience. As a result of his faithfulness to God’s law, he—who is innocent—was able to pay the penalty for us who are guilty of breaking God’s law.
