Why does creation long for the revealing of the sons of God?

Romans 8:19 (ESV)

19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.

When it is stated in Romans 8:19 that the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God, it is conveyed, in the first place that creation longs for a different kind of people. Paul characterizes this eager longing with the Greek word apokaradokia which indicates how a subject, in times of suffering or distress, looks forward to a sure deliverance (cf. Philippians 1:20). This eagerly expected revelation of God’s children involves more than merely making their names known. The original Greek actually conveys the idea that creation looks forward to the presentation of God’s children as prominent and influential. When God’s children take over the world following their glorification, the glory of their Father will radiate through the whole world and all of creation along with them.1
