Cultivating a solid Christian character through endurance leads to hope in the sense that the Christian persevering in the faith becomes a living proof of the hope in the future conclusion of the suffering. How would anyone endure suffering if the suffering never ended? After all, enduring implies having something to look forward to. Furthermore, because we already feel God’s love radiating in our own hearts, hope and endurance follows the growth of character even during this dispensation in which we still experience the pressure of all the burdens that weigh us down.1
