What is the day or hour that Jesus is speaking about?

36“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.
Day or hour is a general time indicator and not an expression denoting a specific time of day (that can somehow be discovered/worked out).1 The day and hour refers to the time of the eschaton, when Jesus Christ will return in glory.2
