Matthew 24:34 (ESV)

34 Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.

The various things mentioned in Matthew 24:4–26 will happen within the lifetime of many of those who were alive when Jesus spoke. This includes the destruction of the temple.1
