The book of Acts recounts the spread of the early church and the manner in which Christ works to take the gospel from Jerusalem, to Samaria and finally to the ends of the world (Acts 1:8). Your sermon from Acts 13:13–52 will emphasize that Jesus is the Christ, the promised heir of David who brings God’s blessing to believers. You must make what Jesus has done for the justification of God’s people and the response which he expects from us, clear. You will also speak about the temptation to change the message so as to win the approval of people, and that we must submit instead to God’s sovereignty, welcoming all those whom he would add to his church.
