Who are the God-fearing women of high standing and the leading men of the city?

Acts 13:50 (ESV)

50 But the Jews incited the devout women of high standing and the leading men of the city, stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their district.

God fearing women of high standing refers to prominent women from a Gentile background who either attended the synagogue meeting or gave money to support the synagogue in some way.1 The leading men of the city are influential members of the local aristocracy, people with power and money.2
