The book of Acts recounts the spread of the early church and the manner in which Christ works to take the gospel from Jerusalem, to Samaria and finally to the ends of the world (Acts 1:8). Your sermon from Acts 13:1–12 will emphasise that Jesus Christ is taking his gospel to the ends of the earth through the ordinary plans and prayers of his people. You can also comment on how we can be certain that we are not wasting our time when we make sacrifices for the sake of Christ’s kingdom because he is the King who rules.
