Who was Sergius Paulus?

Acts 13:7 (ESV)

7 He was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence, who summoned Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God.

We do not have any additional information on Sergius Paulus. It is possible that he is the Q. Sergius (Paulus) mentioned in an inscription found in Cyprus.1
