In what ways was Dorcas helping the poor?

Acts 9:36 (ESV)

36 Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which, translated, means Dorcas. She was full of good works and acts of charity.

Dorcas was likely a prosperous woman, either through marriage or inheritance. The ways in which she would have helped the poor likely included charitable donations of food, clothing and money.1 We know for certain that she made clothing for widows (Acts 9:39).
