What is the meaning of the name Dorcas?

Acts 9:36 (ESV)

36 Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which, translated, means Dorcas. She was full of good works and acts of charity.

Dorcas is a Greek name which means gazelle.1 In the Song of Solomon, Gazelle is a metaphor for a loved one/the beloved (Song of Solomon 2:9; Song of Solomon 8:14).2
