What happened to Aeneas?

Acts 9:33 (ESV)

33 There he found a man named Aeneas, bedridden for eight years, who was paralyzed.

With the reference to eight years, it is implied that there was a time when the man Aeneas was not paralysed. Presumably a stroke or a fall has resulted in his injury.1
