Jesus Christ is the one who came to bring peace between God and man. As a result of his life and death, there can be forgiveness of sins for all who believe in him. This is possible because he died the death that sinners deserve on the cross and he lived the perfect life, which God requires of human beings, during his time on earth. His death has not only atoned for sin but through the giving of the Spirit. There is also a cleansing which has taken place, by which people are made acceptable to be welcome into God’s presence (see Titus 3:5–6).
