Acts 10:1–48 (ESV)

1 At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion of what was known as the Italian Cohort,

  • God is holy, sinners may only approach him if they have been cleansed and had their sins atoned.

  • God does not show favouritism; his standards for judgment are the same for every single human being.

  • God is the one who hears prayer.

  • God is the one who sent messages to the people of Israel regarding his Son.

  • God is the one who anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and power.

  • God is the one who raised Jesus from the dead and caused him to be seen. He also appointed him as judge of the living and the dead.

  • God is sovereign; he directs the course of history, and works to bring Peter to Cornelius.

  • God is worthy of all praise.
