Commentary on Job 28:5 (Summary)

Job 28:5 (ESV)

5 As for the earth, out of it comes bread, but underneath it is turned up as by fire.

Job describes the mysteriousness of underground mining. While we find bread on the surface of the earth, there may be miners at work far beneath us. The depths of the earth are turned up in the search for precious minerals.
