What does Jesus save us from? He saves us from (slavery to) sin. In Matthew 1:21 we read, …Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.
Jesus also saves us from God’s punishment of our sins, God’s justified punishment, and Jesus saves us from the coming judgment (see 1 Thessalonians 1:10).
God’s punishment comes over unbelieving Babel (that is, those who rebel against God) and thus he saves his people (compare Revelation 19:1–2).
For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord (Jesus) will be saved,
says Romans 10:13.
6 Say therefore to the people of Israel, ‘I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from slavery to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great acts of judgment.
