Just like Moses, we can be impatient and frustrated when we pray and God does not seem to act, or our circumstances are only deteriorating. Is God helping at such a time? God does sometimes wait before he helps us. Then it is important that we (continue to) trust his promises.

God made his promise of salvation known time and again through the prophets. And that gospel is proclaimed to the nations (including us!) to give us strength, obedience, and faith (Romans 16:25–27).

When you trust in the Lord, you still may encounter significant problems. As it says in Psalm 44:22, quoted in Romans 8:36, for your sake we are killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered. At the same time God holds us tightly: who is able to separate us from the love of God (Romans 8:35)?
