Jeremiah’s complaint continues as he expresses the inner turmoil he feels. The words pain,
and wound
refer to mental anguish, not physical wounds.1 He is struggling with the fact that he must experience such relentless anguish, without any relief from the Lord, simply because he is the Lord’s prophet.
