.1 Just as the people have rejected him so the Lord now powerfully rejects his people. Their actions have alienated them from the Lord and so he turns from them. Their covenant breaking means they no longer experience fellowship with the Lord (Psalm 5:5; Psalm 11:5; Hosea 9:15; Amos 5:21; Amos 6:8)
