Once again, the Lord is compared to these man-made idols. In one sentence three powerful realities about the Lord are listed: he is the true God,
the living God,
and the everlasting King.
The idols, however, are false gods, lifeless and they exist for only a time.1
10 But the LORD is the true God; he is the living God and the everlasting King. At his wrath the earth quakes, and the nations cannot endure his indignation.
