Where is Mount Halak?

Joshua 11:17 (ESV)

17 from Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir, as far as Baal-gad in the Valley of Lebanon below Mount Hermon. And he captured all their kings and struck them and put them to death.

Within the Bible, Mount Halak is only mentioned here and in Joshua 12:7. It was near the country of Seir, otherwise known as Edom (Genesis 32:3; Deuteronomy 2:8). Numbers 34:4 and Joshua 15:4 mention Mount Halak in connection with the ascent of Akrabbim and Kadesh Barnea suggesting it may have been near it.1
