Og was the last of the Rephaim, giants of old (Deuteronomy 2:11). It is possible that his bed of iron
was a sarcophagus, whose length was 4x2 metres. The monument to this king's memory serves as a witness to the power of the Lord over Israel's enemies, giant or otherwise.
