8 So we took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the Valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon

Moses offers a summary statement of the two conquest narratives of Deuteronomy 2:26 – 3:7 regarding Heshbon and Bashan. The conquest east of the Jordan extended from the Arnon in the south to Mount Hermon in the north.
