What is the cause of wandering?

Hebrews 5:2 (ESV)

2 He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness.

The cause of wandering is not listening to God’s ways (Psalm 95:10 in Hebrews 3:10). The sympathetic high priest can help those who committed sins through ignorant wandering.1
