Other prophets spoke of the day of the Lord (Isaiah 2:11, Isaiah 2:20; Amos 5:18; Amos 2:13–16; Amos 3:13–15; Amos 5:20; Zephaniah 1:7–18; Zephaniah 2:1–3; Zephaniah 3:8, Zephaniah 3:11–20). It was a coming time when the Lord would destroy his enemies and recue his people. But it is also a time when the Lord would punish his own people for their unfaithfulness. The coming enemy that Jeremiah is describing is part of that day
