Commentary on Job 22:20 (Summary)

Job 22:20 (ESV)

20 saying, ‘Surely our adversaries are cut off, and what they left the fire has consumed.’

The righteous finally triumph over their enemies. Eliphaz puts himself squarely in the camp of the righteous, and Job in the camp of the righteous’ wicked adversaries. After all, Job’s own wealth was destroyed by heavenly fire (Job 1:16).
