What is “the water of life”?

Revelation 22:17 (ESV)

17 The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price.

This is the same life-giving water the Lord had promised in Revelation 21:6. This water of life is ultimately Jesus Christ himself (John 7:37).
