We might find the inclusion of each term redundant inasmuch as they seem almost synonymous. The term book
encloses the totality of the revelation that John has received and written down and will shortly send to the churches. The term prophecy
characterizes the content of this book; that is, it is God-breathed foretelling of the things that God has determined will occur (2 Peter 1:21). The term words
requires the reader to look beyond some broad outline to zero in on the details, that is, each word in this prophetic revelation is important and so must be kept.
7 “And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
