  2. Application

One God in three persons: What does Matthew 6:25-34 reveal about what God does in my place and on my behalf (Son)?

Matthew 6:25–34 (ESV)

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

God the Son came to do the Father’s will in all things. Obedient even when he did not have food and water, he suffered the penalty that I deserve for my failure to trust in God. As a result of his perfect life, he has won the right to an inheritance with God in glory in the new creation. He sought the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and through faith in him, his complete obedience can be imputed to me as if it were my own.
