What does it mean for God to be the Father in heaven?
Matthew 6:9 (ESV)
9Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
The reference to heaven is a reminder of God’s transcendence1 and sovereign power.2 He is not part of the world that he has made but separate from it, as the Creator.3
