1. Leviticus 26:11 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

Why does verse 10 seem to interject the final promise?

Leviticus 26:11 (ESV)

11 I will make my dwelling among you, and my soul shall not abhor you.

The reason why the Lord recalls an earlier promise, is because it is a sign of God’s presence amongst his people. Literally, the Leviticus 26:11 reads, I shall make my tabernacle among you. The tabernacle was designed to be the place where God met with his people. Thus, the nation was to understand that the abundance of vegetation was a sign of God’s dwelling in the midst of his people.
