1. Leviticus 26:5 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

Which other effects would rain have upon the land?

Leviticus 26:5 (ESV)

5 Your threshing shall last to the time of the grape harvest, and the grape harvest shall last to the time for sowing. And you shall eat your bread to the full and dwell in your land securely.

The Lord’s blessing would be seen in the length of the harvest season. Grain, which was normally gathered in early summer, would last until the autumn grape harvest. Moreover, the grape harvest would last until the early spring. The point is that there will be an abundance of crops and non-stop agricultural work. The nation would be fully satisfied with the Lord’s provision.
